Palomar loves CITs! For years now, boys have come to Adventure Camp and are growing into Godly young men who want to serve the Lord. The Counselor in Training (CIT) program gives these boys the opportunity to learn what it means to lead like Christ, problem-solve, serve, and grow in responsibility.
The goal of the CIT program is to teach discipleship and allow boys the opportunity to explore their calling in Palomar’s unique ministry setting.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PROGRAM:

Has been to Adventure Camp as a camper at least once
-
Will be at least 15 years old by June 1st of the summer season

Seeks to grow a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ
-
Loves the outdoors and sleeping under the stars
-
Is in good physical condition
WHAT CIT'S CAN EXPECT IN THE PROGRAM
-
Will grow in their relationship with the LORD, with others, and their knowledge of the outdoors
-
Will receive mentorship as they learn to mentor others
-
Will assist in setting up and tearing down of activites
-
Will assist in meal preparation and cooking
-
Will co-lead hikes
-
Will co-teach and guide campers through Backpack Preparation, Fire-Building, Shelter Building, and Team Building

Will assist campers with inventory checks and accounting for all equipment
-
Will arrive at 2:00pm on Sunday and depart after Closing Ceremony on Friday at 3:00pm
CITs have three sessions to choose from:
July 5th - July 10th
July 19th - July 24th
July 26th - July 31st
The CIT cost is $200 for two weeks. The balance is due on or before June 1. Each CIT will fill out an application and go through an interview process to determine their character, outdoor skills, spiritual readiness, and leadership potential.
