Little Astro arrived summer of 2021 full of energy! He loves being part of summer camp and connecting with new campers! You can easily spot him by his short tail. 

Hi, I'm Ranger. This is my first summer at Palomar, but I have been doing trail rides for quite some time. I might be a little older than some of these guys, but I can keep up with all of them no problem. I love spending my days getting to hang out with my best friend Mocha and Getting all the carrots. Don't forget my treats this summer!

Hello! My name is Mocha, and this is actually my second summer here at Palomar. Last year I was kind of a mess but that's because it was all new and very scary. I'm good now! Now that I've settled in, I love all the attention and getting ridden. I cant wait to show you all what I've learned this summer!

My name is Tess and I'm the youngest horse here. I love kids and getting lots and lots of treats. Some people say I'm a little crazy, but I think that's just an excuse. I love food, play time and my best friend Molly. I cant wait to paly soccer and run around with you this summer.

Hi, I'm Jon Bon Joey but you can call me Joey. I'm the oldest horse here for summer camp but i dont let that slow me down. Most of the time I keep up with everyone, even the youngsters. I love carrots and all the love and attention that I can get. I can't wait for you guys to pet me all summer long.

Maverick, originally called Sugar, was donated in 2007 and is a big heart stealer! Our big chestnut gelding sweetly lets anyone ride him. From the most beginning rider to the most advanced riders, he loves them all. 

Pandora’s Albatross AKA “Pandora” is an American Saddlebred multi-gaited registered (Kentucky Natural Gaited Horse Association)  mare with a soft ride. Pandora also has a Certificate of Registration from the “Racking Horse Breeders Association of America”. Palomar purchased Pandora in September 2022. Prior to that, her home was in Temecula, CA while she also traveled weekly to her second home in Big Bear, CA. Pandora is sure footed and has extensive trail & mountain riding experience. Pandora enjoys advanced obstacle courses and is a horse for an intermediate to advanced rider. Pandora enjoys her arena riding time and is looking forward to meeting campers this summer! She is in our lower pasture and has become best friends with Stoney and Maverick.

Hey guys! My name is Molly and I'm one of the new additions to camp this year. I have been here since mid-March of this year. At first, I'll be totally honest, it was a little scary but after the first few days I really started to love it here. I get to spend all day with my best friend just running around and eating food. I love when the kids come visit because they always give me carrots. I totally love carrots. I hope I get carrots from all of you this summer!

Turin was donated in 2015.  True to his Peruvian Paso breed, he is smooth to ride and ever full of controllable energy.  Turin helps riders learn how to use gentle movements to guide him.

Hi! My name is Hendrix and I am new to camp this year. I have spent most of my life doing trail rides but believe it or not I gave racing a shot when I was only 2 years old. Unfortunately, I wasn't very quick so I didn't keep doing it. Now I get to spend most of my time in the pasture with all my buddies and getting all the pets from visitors. This is my first year of camp so I'm excited to have fun with you all.
