Little Astro arrived summer of 2021 full of energy! He loves being part of summer camp and connecting with new campers! You can easily spot him by his short tail. 

We welcomed Champ to Palomar in October 2021. He formerly worked as a therapy horse in Orange County. Since coming to Palomar he has become best friends with Daisy and is excited for summer!

Daisy was donated in the spring of 2019.  She has been very sweet with all levels of riders.  We look forward to having many great years with her!

Gracie is Horse Camp Director "Jay"'s personal horse. She is a previous Hunter-Jumper who enjoys conducting Leadership and Equine Assisted learning programs and activities. Jay has owned her since 2016 and they are best friends! 😊 Gracie loves trail rides, arena work, and campers! She has a lot of intuition and loves to love you!

Harvey was donated to us in January 2023. His human mom retired from riding at 82 years old! Harvey has extensive trail riding and arena experience. He is great for a beginner to intermediate rider. He is ridden in a hackamore rather than with a bit. While living in Temecula wine country he enjoyed riding through the vineyards and orange groves. Harvey loves all the kind and loving attention he can receive, he is very vocal and you can hear his whinnies throughout the barn. Harvey is in our upper pasture with his best friend Champ.

Joey is known as the kid at heart here.  He fools everyone into thinking he’s at least ten years younger than he is.  He loves all people.  His springy trot surprises everyone and is great for teaching posting trot and advanced sitting trot techniques. 

Maverick, originally called Sugar, was donated in 2007 and is a big heart stealer! Our big chestnut gelding sweetly lets anyone ride him. From the most beginning rider to the most advanced riders, he loves them all. 

Pandora’s Albatross AKA “Pandora” is an American Saddlebred multi-gaited registered (Kentucky Natural Gaited Horse Association)  mare with a soft ride. Pandora also has a Certificate of Registration from the “Racking Horse Breeders Association of America”. Palomar purchased Pandora in September 2022. Prior to that, her home was in Temecula, CA while she also traveled weekly to her second home in Big Bear, CA. Pandora is sure footed and has extensive trail & mountain riding experience. Pandora enjoys advanced obstacle courses and is a horse for an intermediate to advanced rider. Pandora enjoys her arena riding time and is looking forward to meeting campers this summer! She is in our lower pasture and has become best friends with Stoney and Maverick.

Stoney joined our herd in 2016.  He was already trained as a vaulting horse and has continued to be a great vaulting horse.  Our gentle giant also loves his picture being taken and has several poses he chooses from every time he sees someone taking his photo.

Turin was donated in 2015.  True to his Peruvian Paso breed, he is smooth to ride and ever full of controllable energy.  Turin helps riders learn how to use gentle movements to guide him.
