Dear parents,
We are excited for the summer camp season to begin in the next couple of weeks!
Like most businesses we’ve had to endure a few challenges in the last few months.  This has prompted us to adapt and change the way that we run some of our camps this summer.  The Horse Camp program in particular has experienced several changes.  Horse Camp will still be operational, but unfortunately we will not be offering the full horsemanship experience this summer.  Campers will still get to enjoy some trail riding and unmounted time with the horses as well as a wide variety of other activities.  Subsequently, we are cancelling all Showdeo events traditionally held at the end of each horse camp.  We are also limiting each week of horse camp to a maximum of 14 participants.
The changes to Horse Camp have been made for the following reasons…
1.    We have several horses that are still in the process of recovering from previous injuries.  Despite our best efforts to rehabilitate them in time they will not be ready to work by the time our summer program begins.
2.    We are experiencing a lack of Wrangler/Counselors available to effectively support the operation of the program.
3.    It is unfeasible to provide a quality horse camp experience and practice proper social distancing at the same time.  Many of the traditional horse camp activities are close contact, and/or involve working in close proximity with one another.
As a result of these changes, Palomar is reducing the price of Horse Camp to just $399 per week.  That’s an amazing discount of $100 off!  For those of you who have already paid the full amount we can issue you a refund for the difference.  You also have the option of donating the difference to Palomar Christian Conference Center as well.  We hope that this message finds you with good grace as we endeavor to provide a unique and spiritually rich camp experience for your children.
